Poem about thanking soldiers.
I think about him,
my father dearest.
He left risking life and limb
to keep safe those whom mothers keep nearest.

So why do those he saves
have no gratitude?
Why not stop following the road that you pave
and take a second to say thank you?

He does his best
like so many other veterans did and do.
To make it easy at night to rest,
even though he may have lost a friend or two.

Please take a moment,
to appreciate what they have done.
It will only take an instant
and they did it for you, your daughters and your sons.
