Very poorly written as a teenager and recently hastily edited. Feedback VERY welcomed!
The chill of ebony envelopes me
as the hand of loneliness
points a distorted finger
in my direction.
These eyes once
smiled into mine
as laughter closed
the distance between us.
They gazed softly at me
as I first danced at the discovery
of a joy that only love can invoke.
These hands that once wiped
tears from my eyes
now squeezes my heart
into pieces, evicting any
remaining compulsion
toward life.
He onced warmed me in a love
that lead me into
a world of distant dreams,
only to wake me with the reality
of a chilling nightmare.
He propelled my spirit high,
above the highest birds,
and only an arms reach
from the brightest heavens.
Now binding ropes yank me
down to the lowest pits of hell.
These eyes that once
tenderly stared into mine
now leaves a volcano of agony
where my heart once pumped
survival into my veins.
The voice that once calmed my fears
now spews cold indifference
at this crumpled figure before him.
