Words, the writer's food, tool, bane of existence - reason for being.
              “WordPlace”

I visited my WordPlace far into the night,
  and watched the solitary words
as they set up for fight-
Aloneness kept some cold
  and lifeless as a stone
  while others screamed defiantly
  into a silent Zone-
Try as they might they couldn’t stand
  against the Finite Mind
But huddled close together
  Seeking solace from own Kind-
Then angry words and bitter words
  were shoved against those calm
  and chaos became a puddle
in the middle of the storm-
Without thought they threw themselves
  out of mouth and mind
When each of them would rather
  stay with their own Kind-
I watched with wild wonder
as my words began to run
  and threw themselves together
and began to have such fun
That my WordPlace began to swell
  and grow beyond my dreams-
And the words began to form
  into complicated Teams-
Then even though they didn’t match
In Sound – Look – or Deed
I found my WordPlace could express
  my every thought and need-
