This poem is centered on the struggle the night brings me- It's enough to drive me insane.
The silence beating on my brain,
Enough to drive a soul insane-
And wake, I won’t, for sleep does not fall
Upon the most weary and desperate of all

My body aches for rest she needs
Yet my mind the messages won't heed.
So toss and turn with racing thought
No peace attained to those it sought.

And pray I for the morning light
For shadows fade with the night
To leave me in the pale of day
That chase the loneliness away.
