Reflection on being a "problem child"
I think I cut some ties
When I said she cut my hair
A joke became a lie
The further I got scared
I threw a pencil at her later
As I screamed the words I chose
Written up for bad behavior
As the day came to a close
But

CHORUS:
There was a certain innocence
Displayed in my troubled eyes
I didn't think of consequence
When I was tellin' lies
I didn't wanna be like them
Around them, I was bored
I acted out, I'd rather be
Hated than ignored

Brand new kid in school
Lots of brand new friends
Trying to be cool
Without being just like them
Refusal to fit in
Meant elementary hell
I didn't know it then
But I can clearly tell...

CHORUS

The principal, psychologist, and counselor knew my name
Kids in grades below me could attest my rise to fame
I wasn't the most popular, but I was most well known
King of notoriety takes the crown alone
But

CHORUS
