About dreams
Resting my head upon my pillow
I am instantly reminded
of those very dreams
that departed when I awoke

Although they appeared
for but a second
I recalled every detail
Every familiar being
as well as the unfamiliar

Their echoing voices
told tales of laughter and despair
Staring faces, empty in meaning
but saying so much
A glimpse of the truth
remains inside them

I remembered every abnormal sight
Every weightless turn
And every anchored step
The way the air smelled
That feeling the winds left me with

These dreams
are ones I cannot ignore

Scared away by morning's light
seeping through my eyelids
Until moonlight summons
and they can return
to remind me
