A romantic poem written for the prompt - Black Magic!
BLACK MAGIC LOVE!

Black Magic, that is what this is.
That is what she’s used on you,
And now, you will never again be
The man that we once knew.

That is what my friends say.
But, none amongst them
Has ever known a love like this.
And so, how can they
Really understand what
This thing between us is?

What can I do?
There IS magic in her
Lips, her eyes, her sweet caress.
I do not deny that.
But, is it the healing kind
I’ve been seeking all my life?

Or, is her hold on me
A kind that is all consuming.
The kind that will take everything,
Destroy everything,
I have ever cared for.
And still demand – more, of me?

But, all black magic is, my lover says,
Is giving a man the things he never
Knew he needed, till they are his.
And his life is all the better for it,
And he finds he can not
Live without it.

And, if she is right,
Then she is all I’ve ever
Wanted, all my life.
But, if she’s not, then
What will be the true cost of my
Dealings with this Black Magic love?
