A powerful poem about a man trapped in love's embrace.
I have seen her face
It was floating in space
Just above the moon
Perfect in every way
She had to be an angel
For nothing had ever been this beautiful
The smile; so captivating, intoxicating
I just couldn't look away

If dreams could come true
My lips would be upon hers
My hand would be inside hers
And forever I'd be happy
If only dreams could come true
Then the woman above the moon, would be mine
If my dreams could only come true

And as I stared into the black abyss
I thought only one person
Who ever made me feel like this
Only one smile; and only one kiss
Swirling memories, floating in my fogged mind
I swear I'd never find my way out
The lady above the moon; had me trapped
Locked amongst her beauty

I fight to look away
And I swear I'd never fought this hard before
And finally I break away
The vision vanishes, only dark skies
A bright moon; a thousand stars
No beautiful woman, above the moon
My memories soon are whisked away
And I live to see another day
