Happy Thanksgiving!
Yesterday morning, I ate Thanksgiving breakfast
with my family down at the diner
Last night, I ate Thanksgiving dinner with my family
down at the shelter

I served and served with a smile
Turkeys?
Mashed potatoes?
Gravies?
Pumpkin pies?

I knew I was wasting my precious time
But it felt so satisfy
So many thank you gestured with no promise to pay
I knew my bank account was going to be full of empty trays

Today, I'm worth more than yesterday
My heart is full and my soul is light
It's almost time for Thanksgiving Day
Show that you care by helping those who are less fortunate
