A comedic poem about a turkey who gets eaten for Thanksgiving.
Feeling jazzed, now looking straight,
He goes walking herky-jerky,
Crazily scrapping a normal gait,
Through the door, some wild turkey!

Won’t catch him, he’s headed west,
That wild turkey is stumbling past,
Can’t pass any sobriety test,
In a race, he’d finish last…

That fiendish bird sees his chance,
Time for some mixed-up, crazy living –
Going to the barnyard dance,
Not knowing soon, it’ll be Thanksgiving!

The farmer’s deal with the bird,
“You’ve been a friend, a lifelong winner,
So in my line, you’ll be the third
Wild turkey they’ll have for dinner…”

It’s sad, but true, for every meal
Eaten by our thoughtless kind,
These meaty birds cannot conceal
The worth for which they’re raised, designed.
