A short poem about youth, immaturity, and livelihood and their benefits or setbacks.
Corrosive Youth

Innocent youth, she can destroy us,
Like a flower standing in ice;
With potential and prone to entice,
Youth stillborn or too late; monstrous!
Beauty, being credulous, bounds with Juventas;
If youth be destructive, beauty too emaciates;
With this brings both to flames, thus,
Useless.--Holy Hell! To be an infant or
Old, with no creaks or cracks in my voice;
Lying on the sand of the salty shore,
With a glimpse or no sight at all of choice;
Is an escape from Hades and his jaunty lure;
Youth, his minion, his corruptor.
