The very first poem I ever wrote.
Why
All you can think to ask yourself now is
Why
Why he lied
And what she did...
What's going on?
What is this?

The rush of the glass
Falling to the floor
The answer's right in front of you
But you stand by what you swore
You scream out for help
Knowing no one may come
You've been left to die there
All on your own
Keep holding on

Tearstains
Marking the floor
Flowing from your eyes
The blades on the table
Cutting edge proof

It's the memories
And all their pain
All the adrenaline
It's all the same
All it is is a game

The sound of the glass
Shattering on the floor
The mindblowing smash
A sight you can't ignore
But the threat still lingers

The glass is gone forever
It's gone
Forever

The answer you have found
Is dragging you across the floor
But memories will fade
So let go of what you swore
You stop screaming out for help
When you know that no one will come
You've been left to die there
All on your own
Keep holding on

The truth that you have found
Finally lets you go
Take your secret to your grave
So no one will ever know

But something else is still out there

Keep holding on
Don't let go
