Why aren't you smiling?
Why is it easier to pull a long face,
Than putting on a smile?

Why is it easier to downplay our sense of identity,
Than to believe and take confidence in one's self-worth?

Why is it easier to laugh at ourselves,
Than to appreciate one another for who we are?

Why is it easier to embrace the negative for reality,
Than to take the leap of faith and make a positive difference?

Do we take comfort and solace in darkness?
Why do we shy away from hope and denounce it as a delusion?

Is it difficult to have a nice day?
Is it wrong to enjoy oneself?

Where did we learn this from?
Who is to blame?

Why, the culprit stands in front of us in the mirror.
Why are we doing this to ourselves?

Come on I say good fellow,
It's not that difficult.

Seek the inner courage within yourself,
And listen to your heart's true calling.

Break yourself from your chains of self-destruction,
And smile.
