I would like people to interpret this poem for themselves.
I'm sitting here on my island

There's a nice view, no matter where you sit.

The choices of where to sit

are infinite, I don't think

I've sat in

one place twice

yet.

There are people on my island,

I'm not alone.

I wasn't the first here

either.

Kindness

greeted me

when I arrived.

They wash my

clothes

for me

and dry them.

You find the odd serpent here,

in a way.

But fewer than you'd find

out there,

I think.

I got bitten once,

but nothing

came of it.

They say I have

3 months

here.

Just until

I feel well

enough

to carry on.
