America thrives on graves of the past.

They were the owners of land
That has been snatched away.
Owners, in reservations,
Have been condemned to stay.

The invaders referred to
Them simply as The Red,
Emptying on them their guns,
Causing red blood to spread.

Maya, Aztec, Cherokee,
Ioway, Navajo,
Dakota Sioux, Hopi,
Chipewyan and Cahto;

These, who had once ruled the land
Were held as prisoners;
Robbed of the home and hearth, they
Were turned into paupers.

Their gold and land were snatched by
The cruel invaders.
Lords were turned by cruel fate
Into servile waiters.

They had forever maintained
Harmony with nature,
Which has now been sullied by
Modern man’s signature.

Mother Nature boomerangs
On those who destroy her.
This lesson our generation
Has yet to decipher.
