An ode to my pet.
I will never forget
Your nose, oh so wet
Your eyes of black jet
And your cute silhouette

How you barked at a chair
Or just at thin air
The bows in your hair
And the clothes that you wear

Nor the way that you danced when I came to the door
Or the way that you rolled all around on the floor
When I gave you a treat, you always begged for more
And then you’d fall asleep, and sound that cute little snore

You’d rejoice when we asked you to come for a car ride
Or pretty much any time you went on outside
When we’d aim to brush you, off you’d go hide
But then when we did, you’d shimmer with pride

And how happy you’d get
When a new person you met
A bark you would let
So cute, so tiny, my pet
