I saw an angel with dead eyes...I saw the truth inside his lies...
I saw an angel dressed in grey,
on green fields falling in decay.
His wings were made of worn out silk,
his face was like a darkened day.

I saw an angel with dead eyes,
expression like turbulent skies.
His soul was tarnished yet still pure,
I saw the truth inside his lies.

I saw an angel’s broken heart,
I touched it and I felt it start.
His manner was deceiving and cold,
But in truth his feelings were hurt.

I saw an angel all aflame,
His mask consumed by our fell game.
He whispered begging for forgiveness,
We both knew it was all the same.

I saw an angel walking far,
His wings were broken by a star.
He bled red blood as I thanked him,
A tender scene no one could mar.

I saw an angel dressed in grey,
From the green fields he went astray.
His wings were healed, his heart renewed,
I watched him as he flew away.
