CHRIST OF MANY COLORS!


O GOD, teach us how to pray
Before a CHRIST of many colors.
The SON YOU sent to save us all,
From every corner of this world.
The ONE who asks us only,
“If you truly love ME,
Let ME be your inspiration
To go before the nations
And tell them what it is I’m offering,
For all are welcome, ALL are welcome.”

O GOD, teach us how to be
Like a CHRIST of many colors.
Things we’ve done and said,
Make us ashamed to look upon HIM.
Now that we realize the sacrifice
We thought was ours alone, belongs
Not just to a few, but to everyone.
For what HE gave, was given to save all,
And to HIM all may come,
For all are welcome, ALL are welcome.

Even those whom we have scorned, and
Thought ourselves to be better than,
In our foolishness and arrogance.
Inspire us O GOD to be truly worthy now,
Of this SACRIFICIAL LAMB, and
Of HIS call to come and be loved, as
Sisters and brothers, of different colors.
For to CHRIST we are all the same, and
All are welcome, ALL are welcome.

Yes GOD, teach us how to love
Like a CHRIST of many colors.
Seeing reds, blacks, whites, browns,
Yellows – all, as beautiful.
All created by YOU, for YOU.
The GOD whom we are made in image of,
Who will one day welcome us into HIS arms,
If we but accept CHRIST's redeeming love,
A gift to which, all are welcome, ALL are welcome!
