We could never be friends
You and I
As hard as we tried
It just seemed impossible
That’s because we were always
So much more than just friends
More than my friend, you were my boyfriend
More than my boyfriend, you were something much better
So, when I say we could never be just friends
And we were so much more than friends
It’s because you were my best friend
