a poem on depression and it's awful effect on a person
A hard and awful silence
Is seeping through my mind
All my dreams are fleeing
My thoughts I cannot find

The silence beckons to me
It calls just like a lover
Now my thoughts are scrambled
While inside I just take cover

The silence it calls out to me
Commands my thoughts to cease
The darkness it surrounds me
It promises me peace

I feel like I’m invisible
As you look the other way
Your indifference is painful
In ways I cannot say

I think of thoughts despairing
As I wallow in this thought
My silent tears, comfort me
Your silence, it does not

So as I lay within my sleep
In silence left to wonder
Will I wake before I break
Or darkness take me under

Conflicting thoughts run through me
While emotions churn inside
And as my thoughts begin to fade
There’s no place left to hide

A soothing calm comes over me
It takes from me my fears
I’m on the inside looking out
And I’m crying silent tears
