A new day dawns
A day full of hope
A day of cheer and rejoycing
It is Christmas
Quite and peacefull
No mortars
No gunfire
No IEDs
It is Christmas
The best gift you can get
Sun starts to settle in for the night
The cold wind starts to kick up
It cuts you to the bone
The moon refuses to shine
It is Christmas
Sounds of wild animals comming from outside the wire
They bring a peace to mind
A screaming sound cuts across the night sky
Explosions errupt out side the wire
Flares illuminate the night
Its Christmas
Flashes from the tower
Flashes from the fields
Flashes from the mountians
The smell of gunpowder fills the frozen night air
It is Christmas
As I returning fire to spread some cheer
Angles of death hover in the air
Bringing their own cheer to the country side
I see a soldier layin on the ground
Blood soaks the ground
I try to move him out of harms way
He says thank you and Merry Christmas with a fake laugh
His life slowly drifting away
Why does it have to be this way
It is CHRISTMAS!
I pick up my weapon again to give them some more christmas cheer
Just like the other soldier would
Ill give them a gift they wont soon forget
after all
It is Christmas
