Don't you miss her?
that little girl with the curious eyes and wide smile
the one in the little bucket hat, small shades and sundress
She was always so eager to see you,
to hug you, to call out your name.
She always had trouble with her shoes,
she could never tie them in bows like you did.
She laughed at all your jokes,
and begged you to give her piggyback rides.
I'm sure you miss her.

Don't you miss her?
that eight year old you called princess,
the one who ran around the house causing trouble but, always making everyone smile.
She was so happy, so happy all the time,
you wonder now, if you did something wrong because you never see her anymore.
It's okay, you didn't fail.
She just became that way.

I'm sure you try to block it out your mind,
that phase where your little girl became a nightmare,
