A Cleave poem for the poetry contest. It is about a young girl's wish.
Spring Wish

I think about the beginning of spring / while I trudge through the pristine, crystal snow.

The breeze moves my loose, long hair / and I look up at the cloudy, blue sky.

I notice the green tips on the tree branches. / I wonder how many days until leaves open up.

I never miss seeing the blossoming of the cherry trees, / as I walk by the Mall in our capital.

I enjoy beholding each small white and pink flower / which takes on a fresh, beautiful look each year.

I wish that I was a cool, clear raindrop / so I pause among the monuments, flags and cherry trees.

And I would want to be forever with the tree. / And this would be my exquisite home.

The Mall is the National Mall in Washington.
The art of cherry blossom viewing is called hanami.
