A lonely poem about putting the past behind
Silvery grey eyes and

A heart of glass

Shattered beyond repair

Because of the past

Spends her days looking back

Picking up the pieces

Placing them together as they were

But she’s never too sure

Was she born to be broken?

She just wants to understand

As she stares at the pieces

She holds in her hand

A voice calls out, amidst the wind

Sounds like a long lost friend

Says, Hey Beauty Queen

It’s been a long time

That heart of yours is broken

Let me lend you mine

Everything that I am

Is now all that you are

We are forever connected

One in the same

I will feel your joys

And also your pain

This way I can heal you

And you will never walk alone

I will always and forever

Call you as my own

The grey eyed girl

With broken glass in her hand

Looked again at the pieces

They had turned into sand

These are the sands of time

Said her new found friend

If you don’t want to

You never have to see them again

She let the past slip through her fingers

As they walked upon the shore

Gazing into the sky

As one, forevermore…
