Usually forgotten families who fight daily to stay together...
The Forgotten Casualties

I gaze upon the countless faces
Ranging names from ‘A’ to ‘Z’
Everyone another story
Of passion, honor, tragedy.

Be it home, abroad at war…
Each an untold tale to tell
In battles away from family
Yet combat is not their hell.

Sometimes forgotten are the truths
Of when these patriots return
It’s not always in the battle field
Where the casualties will burn.

I see it here, the victims now
Who suffer the greatest loss
It’s all too often the war at home
Which has the greatest cost.
