A poem about a lost love!
Lake scene with gazebo

A WONDERFUL PLACE!

Once I lived in a wonderful place,
Beside a wonderful little lake.
But this place now lacks the wonderful girl,
Which made that place a wonderful world.

There are not words enough
To describe how beautiful she was.
But the time for such thoughts is gone,
And I will not live in that place – alone.

Yet, while she lived,
Truly, truly beauty did.
It lives no more though,
At least not in anything I know.

For you see, I loved her with my whole heart
From the very moment we first met.
And while I still don’t understand the why or how,
She loved me even more than that.

Some say such love is useless,
As such love can not be meant to last.
But I know of another world where
Such love as ours lives on - forever.

And there, waits my love for me,
In a land that is Heavenly, where
She rests in a wonderful, little place,
Beside a wonderful, little lake.

In time, I shall join her there.
In that place without tears, or fears or death,
To live again in a wonderful world,
Shared with a wonderful, beautiful girl.
