A short poem about the things we use in our lives to maintain happiness..
Life can be described in two very distinct manners; the highs and the lows. In my life I have found a few ways to make it to the middle, several ways to fall to the bottom but NEVER have I reached this mysterious peak people call "the top". I have only even been able to ascend using external forces to fight the gravity of life's problems. Those external forces are the same ones that have mercilessly thrown me over the edge and simultaneously tricked me into believing I was atop Mt. Happiness. I often question if I'm using the right gear for my climb and if so, why do I have to replace it every 4-6 hours (as needed) in order for it to keep me from free-falling back further than the place I even began? I'm beginning to think I've been using faulty equipment all along. -Stevie Max
