I am a hidden creature of my own imagination.
I have always hidden myself
Behind a curtain of aggressive intuition and book smarts
Behind the power that is me
Behind an image of a powerful woman
Behind the mask of confidence and strength
Bringing others wisdom at length.

And yet behind all that
Lies a broken child
Begging for understanding and love
Begging for someone to hear me
Begging for someone to take me away
From the madness of society today.

I hide inside the confines of imagination
And swim through a sea of daydreams
On a makeshift raft made up of thoughts.
As I conjure up my own fairytale endings
And frightening, exciting beginnings
Reality conquers all the winnings.
