I wrote this in a Creative Writing class. Not many people in my class liked it.
The city on a hill, springs forward with life

But her vitality takes refuge in a cemetery of serenity

She walks gracefully in the moonlight

Crisp crimson roses gripped tightly in her hands

Wandering through rows of tombstones

One in particular catches her eye

She kneels at the foot of a monument; a stark angel stands before her

His hands outstretched, welcoming her presence

She gently lays the roses by his feet,

Reading the passage that lies before her

A sorrowful eulogy basking under God’s sight

A tear glistens on her porcelain cheek, rolling onto a rose

Mourning for her love, hearing his soft voice whisper across the forgotten night’s sky

The star-crossed lovers were separated only by death

Under a grave, he lies now, hinders their love softly beyond humanity
