This is a poem/monologue that is from a girlfriends point of view.
I Tried to Wait For You©

You called me and told me to get ready,

You were coming to take me out.

However, I’ve been waiting for hours,

Sad and hurt trying not to pout.

So, I call you but you don’t answer,

I undress, not knowing what else to do.

And fall asleep on the couch,

Because I tried to wait for you.

I wake to see you're in the bed sleep,

I'm so mad I can't stand to look at you.

I shower to calm down,

And slip on something short, fitting, sexy, and new.

Making sure that you see me before I leave,

I go to the beach to figure out how to fix the situation.

After watching the sunset,

I figured it was time to change my location.

Because this isn't working,

You're not looking at things from my point of view.

And you can blame it all on me,

But I tried to wait for you.

I’m going on with my life,

And wishing you the best in yours.

They say there are more fish in the sea,

But the best ones are the furthest away from the shores.

And you’re not here as usual... So I left you this note,

It reads, “Hey, Boo,

Here’s your key. I moved out.

P.S. I tried to wait for you.”
