A poem on avenue.

Strolling on the sidewalk
I come to an avenue.

Giant trees in the lines
stoop over the broad way
standing like the courtiers
mannerly and submissive
as if waiting for the emperor.

Green trees in the lines
on both sides of the way
standing like the soldiers
with green capes on their heads
well-disciplined, vigilant, alert.

Green trees in the lines
go up to the horizon,
like the giants looking
at me near their feet
as if man looks at ant.

I look at the place miles away
where both lines of trees meet.
Leaves rustle in the breeze
And I walk back to home.
