A poem I wrote right before the Lord picked me up. My life was a mess.
Pain tears at my soul.
A woman once, and now a fool.
My hope is gone, my future unknown.
Ease my fears so I won’t be alone.
Love me please, for I can’t love myself.
Allow me to be me and not left on a shelf.

Listen to me and hear my silent cries.
Yesterday still haunts me and I cannot fly.
Now is still too fragile for me to hope.
Never will I ever be the one who can cope.

Enough of this world and all it holds.
Visit me in my mind where I’m lost in the folds.
Away from a dangerous place.
Never again to know what I am to face.
Safe and sound, I will depart.
