Love and loss.
Hey girl. Can you remember when we were young?
We would run through the fields and play games in the sun.
Watching stars from the hilltop. Getting down on your knees.
We were one and the same doing just as we pleased.

Walking home in the moonlight with your hand in my own.
Run as fast as we can because you late getting home.
Sneaking in through the backdoor and up to your room.
Making love till the daylight hours in June.

Mama says love will always wait for you but,
It's never any good to run away from the truth and,
If we could go back to the start and do it all over again,
I would. I would. I would.

I never really understood the mystery in your eyes.
I wondered if I ever would. You know I must have tried.
So tell me now if you want me to go and I'll leave it all behind.
But babe you have to know. Without you I'm not breathing.

I'm sifting through the memories, the places we have been.
It's just a bit of camouflage imagined or a dream.
But will you ever realise the things you do to me?
Oh I want to be the one, to watch you when your sleeping.

Hey baby. Can you remember
The first time we fell like the snow in December?
But here we are going our separate ways
And I just don't seem to want to let you go.

I'm looking at you photograph, the smile I used to know.
It's just another epitaph of the love that made us whole.
But when we were in love was it ever enough to just live as who we were?
Oh I just can't decide if I ever really knew you.

Honey I was wondering, did we ever have a chance?
Was it ever destiny, that led to our first dance?
If I was a King would you still be my Queen, will I rule this land alone?
Oh girl you have to know. Without your love I'm bleeding.

I don't want to be the one who has to say goodbye because,
If we ever did you know that I would die and,
If we could go back to the start and do it all over again.
I would. I would. I would.
