A love poem
I still see you as I did that first day
I watch you spin and twirl across the floor
"You ought to join our dance," I hear you say
"I cannot dance, I would be such a bore."
You laugh and pull me out and take the lead
I stammer and I stumble to my feet
We fly around the floor at stunning speed
There is no better girl for me to meet
Sometimes I feel I only follow you
That I am still that speechless, stumbling boy
As time wore on, you taught me to lead too
And I pray that our dancing brings you joy
For as a boy I looked on love askance
But I found bliss the day you asked to dance
