I wrote this about my daughters. My hopes for them.
I see the smile on her face
Sweet confusion seems
Angelic in its quality.
Smiles it will bring.

With breath which smells so sweet,
Mixed with sour tones.
You look at me with wide eyes.
Cheeks blushed with garden rose.

Hair glistens in the sunshine bright
Covers face and cheek.
Mouth opens to release a voice.
Loud, proud but never meek.

Children of the future
Our past, their destiny.
No lies, such truth and honesty
No concept of deceit.

In her life such tragedy
Pain and sorrow to be met
With head held high, she walks on
Triumphant, not defeat.

She is the queen of castles
Dolls, trains and other toys.
One day to be a woman
No time for little boys.
