A poem written from the perspective of an adolescent, facing the difficulties of life.

Broken, shattered dreams gawking back at me,
They mock, they taunt, they've left me nothing to feel.
I fall, I stumble, I fall right back again,
They say love is everything but my life has made it just a game.

I was alone; I was searching for something that was never there,
I thought I found it, but in the end it left me no where.
Now I grieve, I weep, I suffer for what I have lost,
I fell, and I fell; but I fought and I fought.

Now these tears, they're nothing new,
Because compared to the old, they're just a few.
Life is pain, life is loss and untamed,
Life is what I've come to terms with ever since the agony is all that came.

My choice of words are poor and so is my condition,
That's how it's been like ever since only my heart was there to listen.
To listen to the eerie silence, louder than words,
Hurt and broken, I carried on, pretending to be undisturbed.

Because the people that left, they never came back,
And the people that stayed, understanding they lacked.
But now I've gotten used to the pain,
You're going to be alone in the end.. trust me, it's always the same..
