Why are women never satisfied with their lot?
We've been together many years -since our days of yore,
your early dreams I've never reached and kept you pretty poor,
You've done your best to change me from the chap I am,
but I haven't got the energy to be your sort of man.

I might have been a top notch chap, you know - a big financier!
founding banks and all that stuff but without the time to fanciyer,
you could have lived in luxury - a life of milk and honey,
the only trouble is my dear, I've never had the money!

Or possibly a raconteur? To entertain at dinner,
a sort of Peter Ustinov, (though just a little thinner).
I could have been an admiral and spent my life at sea
- no chance of that, I like to be, at home in time for tea!

How about a playboy? It's not too late to start,
- balding patch and flabby pot, I'd never look the part!
operatic tenor? - I wouldn't get one vote,
if I attempted just one song - they'd have me by the throat!

I could of course, have bought a horse, and acted like a Bedouin,
But oh my gosh, they rarely wash, so that one's in the bin,
So dream on girl, and let your thoughts transcend reality
While I just watch the cricket - chance of any tea?
