What Homelessness does to people - Short
Cold and stray, Silvery grey.
Locked away, in this clay.

Once a child, thrown away.
Now a man cold and grey .

Lost his pay, but  mostly his way.
Now stale and pale.

Stalking the streets.
With no place to stay.

The boy in the man cries a wail.

Lost his friend.
Stripped away.

One more night to slip away.
Crawls under a bench, completely astray.

Where he hides from the rain,
Like he does the day.

He’s dreaming of his last day,
Hopefully it will be today.
