Gracie's pink bandage
Here she is, thank you Doctor.

You're looking better now, Gracie.    The Doctor even wrapped your leg with a pink bandage.

Do I detect a smile on you face, or is that the medication the Doctor gave you.  Not talking, huh.  Okay, sweetie  Is my baby girl a little high,

Yea, I see you looking at me.    It sure looks like a happy face,

Not hurting anymore, are you.  Her large brown eyes say yes;and thank you.  I think its time Gracie, don't you?

I turn and face the Vet, nod my head.  The plunger of the syringe is released and within seconds, Gracie will never hurt again.

IN MEMORIAM

GRACIE        1999-2010

Gracie, a pit bull terrrier and boxer mix was relieved of her suffering and humanely euthanized on August 18th.

Gracie developed an aggressive and virulent form of bone cancer.  With treatment, the prognosis would be poor,  Her advancing age

and naturally deteriorating bone structure would not support her as a tripod.

She is survived by her adoptive mother, step-father, brother, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Moral support and emergency transportation were provided by a local animal rescue organization.

Bulletins have been issued by UPS, FedEx and USPS that it is now safe to make deliveries to our home.  Maintenance crews will no longer cower in fear at our door yelling:  "Secure the dog, Lady, Secure the dog".  "Do you have a muzzle for her"  "Did you put the dog away?.  "Does she bite

(only if she doesn't like you and it's more like rip  and tear)?.

Squirrels, cats, dogs and assorted wildlife will hold a memorial for her (a Bacchanalian celebration will follow).

The pair of geese, who nest here in the spring, arecurrently vacationing at their summer home in Canada and could not be

reached for comment.

He stepfather, who has been walking her for the last couple of years, have been assured by his Doctors, that his arm will

return to normal lengthwithin a few months.

She is and will be missed.
