She wears her innocence like a lovely mask ,,, (Form: Terza Rima Sonnet)
Façade

She wears her innocence like a lovely mask
that hides a dark secret kept deep in her heart.
No one ever suspects for deceit’s her task.

Childhood memories pierce her like a dart.
Abused in silence, she vows never again!
She’ll bide her time until her revenge can start.

Flickering candles, occult symbols arcane,
a dark litany that’s called into the night
as an appeal - not for forgiveness but pain.

He struggles to wake up, his dreams filled with fright
as nameless creatures cleave flesh and possess
the shards of a soul that is lost to the night.

Eternally damned, he cries out in distress.
She knows that her dark prayers have been answered, “Yes.”
