Forgive me I was having a moment of painful memory-Feel free to give me a new discription!
The Damsel

I tried to play the damsel,
the damsel in distress.
To my dismay you faltered,
you could not see my stress.

I wandered here,
I wandered there.
But nary one could hear.
I wished for only One to sit,
to listen to my tears.

My heart, you see, was broken.
The tissue ripped apart.
All I asked was that you see
your cause in all this  part.

I understood your place in life.
I understood your fears.
To me you were the only one,
to take away my fear.

You asked me please to help you,
to sort it out so clear.
The kind of thing I did for you,
it seemed my daily chore.

Just once I asked that you would see,
Your actions were not pure.
The skull and bones had spoken,
The dagger plunged and seared.

I questioned why I stood with you?
I vowed till death we part.
A mortal wound?  A spiritual flaw?
The answer lies abstruse.

For all that we have spoken,
The truth has yet been told.
Forgive me Love, for I must go.
Your shadows dry my soul.
