This is the first poem I have written and did so because of the death of my beloved dog.
A photo of my beloved True.

Okay, I'm not really a religious person but today is the day I take my poor old dog of fifteen years to be put down. She has gotten to the point where she is too ill to be comfortable anymore. So in dedication of my beloved True here is the poem that invaded my thoughts:

Poem for True

After God had created the Earth and Sky and Sea
He then began to name all the animals from A to Z
But one creature's name evaded him everywhere he went
So he watched the creature with who's time it spent
The creature found humans to love and care
When the humans were sad the creature was there
When humans were happy it rejoiced with them
Playing and dancing with excited mayhem
God watched the creature, a name coming to mind
He took the creature aside and spoke of his find
"Creature, I have watched you from near and far,
"While I am absent the humans watch the star,
"And with your help they love their God,
"That's why I have decided to name you Dog."
Dog barked loudly for now it had a say
It loved humans forever and a day.

I don't really want advice on how to make it better because this is how it will be, so I ask you to keep it to yourself please.
