A teacher advises his student on how to ask his questions.
“Can I go to the bathroom?”
“I don’t know? Are you able?”
May I go to the bathroom?”
I smirk at the head table.

“Asking the right questions
Is important, you know.”
“I know, Mr. Lestins.
So, now, may I go?”

“The difference is big,
Regarding can and may.”
“Yes, sir. I dig.
But I meant, like, today.”

His eyes, they’re bulged.
He squirms in his chair.
My humor is indulged.
I laugh with a care.

“Go now and be quick.”
Timmy smiles and goes.
I hope this lesson will stick,
But, honestly, who knows?
