We had a bad ex. student-I wont bore you with the details but I wrote this when she left
The world you see through your eyes,
Is fantasized, romanticized,
Did you really think it’d all come without strife?

Did you really honestly believe,
That I’d never leave, or be retrieved?
The world doesn’t work that way.

Standing still lost in time,
Above reason and above rhyme,
Above the laws of love and life.

Thought you were in a place above all else,
But here I am breaking your spell,
I’m not your subject or your slave.

You put everyone else’s feelings on a shelf,
And in the process you forgot yourself.
You dealt out judgement and penalties all around,
From a place so high you can’t even see the ground.
It’s gotta be so hard being a god.

I have never been truly devout,
I really tried but it never worked out,
But no one writes a hymn out of disbelief.

Now here you are trying to sway me,
But how can I love you when you only betray me?
Those wounds take a long time to heal.

The most amazing truth is,
You cannot even see what it is you did,
You truly believe you gave me no grief.

All the emotion you enticed,
The excitement and joy, was fake to the last,
Now I want to feel something that’s real.

You put everyone else’s feelings on a shelf,
And in the process you forgot yourself.
You dealt out judgement and penalties all around,
From a place so high you can’t even see the ground.
It’s gotta be so hard being a god.

But the worst part is,
You let me down when,
I needed just that bit of faith,
That the world isn’t always so nasty.
And what hurts most is,
I opened up so much and,
When it all seemed so safe,
You showed your disloyalty.

You put everyone else’s feelings on a shelf,
And in the process you forgot yourself.
You dealt out judgement and penalties all around,
From a place so high you can’t even see the ground.
It’s gotta be so hard being a god,
But luckily for you, you’re not.
