A poem I wrote for a girl who is now my ex girlfriend
Grace
The enigma between her surname and her given
This name cannot wholly define

She
A girl nondescript
I only call her mine

Grace waltzes between crashing waves
Not a drop to smear her image

She stumbles into them laughing
Her design tarnished to perfection

Grace acts as a book
Each letter clear and recognized

She carries herself in riddles
The truth only hinted at behind her eyes

Grace speaks words in melodies
Every phrase a gemstone

She hides poetry in her expression
To the illiterate, unknown

Grace flows across paths well trodden
Each step taking her closer to her destination

She marches on without direction
Journey always greater than location

Grace puts her elegance on display

She lets others find elegance in her

Grace modestly accepts the praise she deserves

She denies she deserves any praise at all

Grace is a diamond of the first water

She is a diamond in the rough
