Doing what you want for a living versus just working a nine to five. Not easy.
The Unpaved Road

He's got a suit and tie on a gravel road;
Woke up early with places to go.
People to see, financial success to be had;
Only he's bored and frustrated, more than a tad.

Enjoys success with a job he could care less;
But with his passion afraid to make a mess.
Soon to purge the curse of procrastination;
Waiting to live his life, he's far too patient.

A piece of paper says he's educated;
Despite the degree the dream hasn't faded.
Now and then the flame flickers alive;
Still can't burn the shelter of nine to five.

'Later, tomorrow, next weekend, next year;'
Before he knows it ¨Happy Birthday¨is here.
A year older, no! a number that's all;
Failure's cold, steely bluff unwilling to call.

The gravel road beckons, ¨this tie is choking¨;
His boss is worried, hopes he's only joking.
Working loose the tie makes the daily grind tough;
Does he dream too much, or not enough?
