What was the reason, for our desire
Our passion to search, burning with fire
Something we could not understand
Even with God’s, helping hand
The relic was never really there
But we felt its presence, throughout the air
We searched through sea, and sky, and land
And now that I think, I understand
The relic was nothing, more than a thought
For envy and fear, we looked and sought
We felt these feelings, like a crutch
And selfish nature, proved too much
The relic has left us like a con
We sit with regret to dwell upon
