A dark sonnet about a young girl and the moon. Twas a cold winter's night...
Moonlight reflected by shimmering snow,
Cheerful stars winking in the midnight sky
Illuminate a cottage far below
Where a girl peers out with a wistful eye.

Longing plastered on her innocent face,
For the closeness of the enchanting moon.
‘Sleep she’d be without ignorance’s grace,
For her parents will be asleep ‘til noon.

She cannot resist the strength of the pull
Of the magical orb that rules the night.
She leaps so fast she has no time to mull,
O’er the consequence of snow’s frigid might.

Snow is the pale prostrate figure’s attire,
Whose demise was induced by moon’s desire.
