A sonnet written from Juliet's perspective in the final act of the famous play.
By the gentle caress of her beau’s lips
The princess awakes from a heavy sleep.
The doom that was upon her is eclipsed,
And with adoring joy the lovers weep.

But unbearable pain consumes my soul
As I wake to see death marked on your face.
For evil fate finally takes its toll;
Princess dreams are no more: truth does replace.

Your silenced presence fills the monument;
Poison lies in your hand like bleak despair.
Tears that streak down my face do not repent,
So I decide your coldness I shall share.

The gleaming dagger permeates my heart.
In heaven, Romeo, we cannot part.
