A poem about the insidiousness of the media.
There's a whisper in the woods
"They killed the Princess"
"Let's kill the genius too," I've heard them call
I've heard they're going to catch and kill the Phoenix
Catch Aslan too...
...and make the giants fall,

They've begun to kill spirits they are catching
They've torn their masters picture from their wall
They've hung drawn and quartered superheroes
By all accounts the rich can kill us all

Revolution is afoot in secret kingdom
For the witches have killed the unicorns
Our gentle knights are going to burn the castle down,
o'er the tales that made the king begin the war

Who asked them to rule the world anyway?
Who gave them the right to idolise, and slay?
The statues placed on their pedestals
Why do you knock them down?
Who asked them to rule the world anyway?
